SRH Conclude 2025 IPL Campaign on a Winning Note With a Crushing 110-Run Victory Over KKR
Heinrich Klaasen smashed a 37-ball century as SRH crushed KKR by 110 runs, posting 278/3. Klaasen’s 105\* and Travis Head’s 76 powered SRH’s dominant finish. KKR crumbled to 168, with Unadkat, Dubey, and Malinga taking three wickets each. SRH ended sixth; KKR finished a disappointing eighth in IPL.
Heinrich Klaasen delivered a batting masterclass in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) final game of the IPL 2025 season, smashing an unbeaten 105 off just 39 balls to lead his team to a thumping 110-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Klaasen’s blistering knock, which featured nine sixes and seven fours, propelled SRH to 278 for 3 — the third-highest total in IPL history — and handed KKR their biggest defeat in the tournament.
SRH, already out of playoff contention, signed off in style thanks to Klaasen’s breathtaking century, which came off only 37 balls — joint-third fastest in the league’s history. He reached his half-century in just 17 balls and never looked back, taking apart the KKR bowling attack with a display of clean, powerful hitting.
Prior to Klaasen's mayhem, Travis Head prepared the way with a fluent 76 from 40 balls, sharing an opening partnership of 92 runs in under seven overs with Abhishek Sharma (32 from 16). Ishan Kishan (40 from 29) also played a key hand, having a 50-run partnership with Klaasen, which took just 20 balls.
KKR’s bowling was left in tatters, with Anrich Nortje conceding 60 in four overs and Varun Chakravarthy going for 54 in three. Sunil Narine briefly pulled things back with the wicket of Head, but was then smashed for back-to-back sixes by Klaasen.
Chasing an improbable 279, KKR faltered early. Jaydev Unadkat (3 for 24), Harsh Dubey (3 for 34), and Eshan Malinga (3 for 31) shared the spoils as KKR were bowled out for 168. Despite brief fireworks from Sunil Narine (21), Manish Pandey (37), and Harshit Rana (34), KKR never looked in the hunt.
The victory has pushed SRH up to sixth place, albeit temporarily, until Lucknow Super Giants' final match. KKR, on the other hand, finished in eighth place. The positing was disappointing given their inability to put together partnerships in the top-order, and lacking consistent performances all throughout.
