In an incredible exhibition of talent and character, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi emerged as the youngest player to score a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, scoring a staggering 101 runs off just 38 balls - including a century off just 35 balls - against the Gujarat Titans for the Rajasthan Royals in perhaps the most jaw-dropping "thank you very much" to the world of cricket.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the spectacle himself, diverting his time for a function to acknowledge the auspicious occasion of the inaugural Khelo India Youth Games in Bihar with the extraordinary comment about the young man's achievement, “Vaibhav has accomplished great achievement at that age. The achievement has a very wide back up of hard work;" calling him their “son of Bihar" in an obvious acknowledgement and reflection of pride.

Even the world of cricket had a backlash of excitement.
