Commentary

Another one-sided game, although the scorecard will not exactly tell you the full picture. It's a double-header tomorrow. Hopefully we will have at least one close game if not two. See you all again in the afternoon. Goodnight!
Muhammad Waseem | PoTM: Very happy with my performance. I was trying to play my natural game. I am always working hard for the sides I play.
Pollard | Emirates captain: It was a good wicket. I thought the guys got a good start and we kept the momentum going throughout the innings. Waseem was very good at the top. These guys swing the new ball. We were lucky enough to have both of them and get two wickets early. We got to be consistent. The tournament has just started.
Moeen Ali | Warriors captain: We weren't sure of how the pitch will play in the first game. Woakes was fantastic. Maybe if we got a couple of wickets we could have had a chance but they just kept coming. We had only three seamers today and that hurt us, probably four would have been better on that wicket. We probably got that wrong today. But we managed to show some fight at the end with the bat. We lost two wickets in two balls. They showed us how to bowl on that wicket. Gurbaz batted really well. We would have loved to bat a bit more positively but losing wickets didn't help.
21:31 Local Time, 17:31 GMT, 23:01 IST: Thanks to Pollard's funky/some may say casual bowling changes in the final few overs, Chris Woakes injected life into the chase after his side totally lost way. Waseem and Pooran led from the front to set up a stiff target. It was definitely chasable, but none apart from Gurbaz got stuck. Tahir ran through the middle-order and ran to all corners of the ground after taking three wickets. Farooqi, Bravo shared four wickets between them. When the game was totally dead, Pollard bowled Waseem and Fletcher for Woakes to pile on 35 runs in 2 overs. In the process he got a 25-ball fifty but his top-order left him too much do in the end.
19.6 Fletcher to Woakes, out Caught by Muhammad Waseem at between mid-wicket and long-on!! In the airrr, oh a stunner from Waseem at long-on. Woakes mistimed the attempt for a six, fielder ran forward and dived full length to collect inches from the ground. Emirates win by 49 runs when they could have won by a bigger margin. Woakes c Muhammad Waseem b Fletcher 62(29) [4s-9 6s-2]

Over Summary: 6 2 4 4 4 W

Score: 155/9

Fletcher to Woakes, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
19.5 Fletcher to Woakes, FOUR, smashed over cover and it's four more. Woakes having fun out there
19.4 Fletcher to Woakes, FOUR, smashed down the ground. Freebie runs on offer and the Emirates are losing out on NRR, although they may say points are their priority
19.3 Fletcher to Woakes, FOUR, slapped away wide of long-off. Fielder dives and gets a hand on it, unfortunately the ball touches the rope
