Stadium Profile
Venue description:
Named after former New Zealand Prime Minister, Richard John Seddon, Seddon Park, is the 4th largest ground in New Zealand. Originally a cricket ground, the venue has also been used for hockey, rugby and rugby league matches. Previously named as Trust Bank Park, the stadium has reverted to its original name at the end of the bank sponsorship.
The stadium hosted its first One Day International on 15 February 1981. The hosts beat the visiting Indian team by a convincing margin of 57 runs.
How does the pitch play?
Seddon Park is a well-grassed stadium with a centre block of 9 pitches, running approximately North/South. These are usually very good batting tracks (source: Wikipedia).
