Gudakesh Motie is a left-arm spinner from the West Indies Cricket team who was born in Georgetown, Guyana, on March 29, 1995. Motie represented the West Indies in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup, which was place in the United Arab Emirates. Later, in November 2015, he first appeared for Guyana in the 2015 Regional Four-Day Competition against Windward Islands. He won Man of the Match after taking 6/20 and 5/85 in his second game against the Leeward Islands. In the subsequent game against Barbados, he also claimed 6/79, and two games later, he completed his fourth five-wicket haul of the 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition by capturing 6/33 against Jamaica.
Motie was a part of Guyana's Regional Super50 team in the 2019 season. With his standout performance, he was among the top wicket-takers with 16 wickets in the Super50 series of the season in October 2021. On September 2, 2021, he played his first T20 match for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League. His stellar performance earned him a spot in the West Indies team for their series against Pakistan in November 2021 for the One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) series. He made his T20 International debut against Pakistan on 16 December 2021. In the same month, he was selected to play in the West Indies ODI team for their match against Ireland.
