Aiden Markram, better known as Aiden Kyle Markram, was born on 4 October 1994. He is a South African cricketer. Markram is a top-order batsman and part-time right-arm off-break bowler. In domestic cricket, Aiden plays for Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 league. He is the captain of the South African National Cricket Team in the T20 format.
Born in Centurion, South Africa, he completed his education at Pretoria Boys High School. For higher education, he went to Cornwall Hill College, University of Pritoria. Aiden's cricket career started in 2014. He made his first-class debut for the Northern Cricket Team against South Western Districts on 9 October 2014. Later on, he was included in the Northern Cricket team squad for the Africa T20 cup in 2015. Markram played for Walkden as a club professional in the Bolton Cricket League in 2016.
In May 2017, Markram won the title of Domestic Newcomer of the Year at Cricket South Africa's annual awards. He was included in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stars' squad for the first season of the T20 Global League held in August 2017.
Markram was included in Paarl Rocks' squad for the first edition of the Mzansi Super League T20 competition held in October 2018. He joined the Hampshire County Cricket Club as an overseas player in March 2019. In the 2018–19 Momentum One Day Cup final, Markram helped the Titans win the competition with a score of 127 runs.
In September 2019, Markram was added to the Paarl Rocks team's squad for the Mzansi Super League competition. He was added to the Northerns squad in April 2021, just before the South African cricket season of 2021–2022.
Markram was included in the Punjab Kings squad for the second phase of the 2021 Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates on September 11, 2021. He was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in February 2022 during the 2022 auction.
Markram was appointed as the Sunrisers Hyderabad's captain for the 2023 Indian Premier League season after leading Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the inaugural SA20 title.
Markram started his International cricket career in 2017. He was included in the South African Test squad against England in June 2017 but couldn’t play. He was selected as the South Africa A cricket team's captain for their 2 four-day matches against India A in August 2017.
