Angelo Mathews is an all-rounder who is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium pace bowler. Angelo is a Sri Lankan cricketer and has captained the National side. Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 2 June 1987, Angelo Mathews is known for his strong batting style, relentless consistency with the ball, mobility in the field, and unwavering temperament.
In addition to playing for the side that advanced to the finals of 2011 Cricket World Cup, the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, and the 2012 ICC World Twenty20. Angelo was also in a team that won the 2014 ICC World Twenty20. In ODI cricket, Mathews and Lasith Malinga have the highest ninth-wicket partnership. He guided his team and fulfilled his responsibilities of being a captain and became the winner of the 2014 Asia Cup. He played in his 100th Test match for Sri Lanka in July 2022.
In the IPL season 2017, he represented the Delhi Daredevils and showcased his game play as an all-rounder. He got an opportunity to become the captain of Kandy’s squad and grabbed it with both hands for the Super Four Provincial Tournament.
