Yash Dayal was born on 13 December 1997 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Yash is an Indian cricketer who represents Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
He made his Uttar Pradesh List A debut in the 2018–19 season for the Vijay Hazare Trophy on September 21, 2018. He made his Uttar Pradesh first-class debut in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on November 1, 2018. Yash made his T20 debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for 2018–19 on February 21, 2019.
Yash was uncapped at the time when he was picked up by Gujarat Titans in 2022 IPL auction at 3.2 crores. He made his IPL debut against the Rajasthan Royals on April 13, 2022.
His rise to fame was spoiled by negative media after he was unable to defend 29 runs when Rinku Singh hammered him for 5 sixes in the last over of the Gujarat Titans vs Kolkata Knight Riders 2023 IPL match. He gave up 69 runs during that match, making it one of the worst four-over spells in IPL history.
In the 2024 auction, Royal Challengers Bengaluru chose him with an even larger bid of 5 crores. He had a fantastic recovery, taking 15 wickets from 13 games in that year's competition, including his best bowling stats of 3/20 against the Delhi Capitals. However, saving 17 runs against the Chennai Super Kings in the penultimate over to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru qualify for the playoffs, was the high point of his IPL career.
In 2024, he was called up for the first time to play for the Indian national team in the Test Series against Bangladesh. Although he was unable to make his national debut. Dayal currently representing RCB in IPL is a great prospect for Indian fast bowling.
