Abrar Ahmed is a right-handed batter and right-arm leg spin bowler who plays for the Pakistan cricket team. Abrar was born on 11 September 1998. In 2022, he was invited to the Pakistan National Cricket Team to play against England on their home turf.
He made his first T20 debut for Karachi Kings on 10 February 2017 in the Pakistan Super League. On 20 November 2022, Ahmed made his first-class debut for Sindh in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Additionally, he was chosen for the 2021 Sri Lankan tour. Abrar made his List A debut on 11 November 2021 for Shaheens against Sri Lanka.
Islamabad United selected him in the 2023 Pakistan Super League draft. Abrar was shifted to the Quetta Gladiators before the 2024 Pakistan Super League. Ahmed played for Pakistan in 2-match series against England in Multan on 9 December 2022, where he impressed his fans by becoming the thirteenth Pakistani bowler to produce a 5 wickets haul in his test debut. Ahmed claimed four wickets for 120 runs in the second innings after taking seven wickets for 114 runs in the first.
After this achievement, Ahmed engraved his name on the list of the Pakistan Squad for the test series against New Zealand. He performed fabulously by taking 5 wickets in the first innings. It was not it, Ahmed earned his place in Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in May 2024.
