Tahlia May McGrath is an Australian Cricketer and serves as the vice-captain for Australia women's cricket team. Tahila was born on 10th November 1995 in Adelaide, Australia. Her cricket journey began at the age of 16 when she joined the South Australian Scorpions in the Women’s National Cricket League in 2011.
In 2015, she made her first appearance in the Women’s Big Bash League for the Adelaide Strikers. On November 27, 2016, she played her first One Day International match for Australia against South Africa. Although she was not selected for the 2017 Women’s World Cup, she received a call-up for the 2017 Women’s Ashes series. She made her test debut in November 2017 against England.
Tahlia won the Andrea McCauley Medal twice for being the best player for the Scorpian’s Team in the years 2018 and 2019. In the 2018-19 season of the WBBL, she was selected in the Adelaide Strikers team. In April 2019, Cricket Australia awarded her a contract with the National Performance Squad ahead of the 2019–20 season. A year later, she received the central contract for the 2020-21 season.
For their series against India in August 2021, she was selected in Australia’s team for the tournament. In the first match of the series three WODI matches in September of that year, at Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay, Queensland she did not bat or take a wicket. During the second WODI on 24 September 2021, in Mackay, she showcased her capabilities by scoring her career-best 74 runs in 77 balls and claimed 3-45. Her performance helped Australia win the match.
On October 7th, she made her T20I debut in the match against India. She delivered a standout performance in the first T20I in January 2022 in the Women’s Ashes Series and became the first Australian all-rounder to take three wickets and score more than 75 runs in a T20I. She knocked 91 off 49 balls and took 3 wickets for 26 runs, leading Australia to a nine-wicket victory over England.
