Jaker Ali Anik is a right-handed batsman from Bangladesh. He was born in Sylhet, Bangladesh, on 22 February 1998. He represented Sylhet in Under-14 and Under-16 Cricket, where he was picked by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, which offered him structural training. He got his first breakthrough in the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he was selected in Bangladesh’s squad.
His path to professional cricket began when he first appeared for his first-class debut in the National Cricket League for Sylhet division on 27th December 2016. He smashed 88 runs in his very first innings, showcasing his skills. He made his List A debut for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the 2016–17 season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League on April 26, 2017.
In October 2018, he was a part of the Sylhet Sixers team in the 2018 –19 BPL season. On January 16, 2019, he played for the Sylhet Sixers in the Bangladesh Premier League for the first time. In November 2019, he was selected to play for the Dhaka Platoon for the 2019-20 season of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Jaker’s consistent performance earned him a spot in the national team of Bangladesh in March 2023 for the T20I series against Ireland. Later, he made his T20I debut against Malaysia during the Asian Games where his team secured a bronze medal in the tournament. After making his first T20 International fifty against Sri Lanka, he quickly established himself as a mainstay in Bangladesh's T20I lineup.
With his talent and perseverance, he secured a highly sought-after berth in Bangladesh's 2024 T20 World Cup squad. In December 2024, during the West Indies tour of Bangladesh, he hit 9 sixes in a T20 series, the most by a Bangladeshi in any bilateral T20 series.
